Are we listening ?

The current issue of The Economist (June 24, 2010) carries two thought-provoking articles on the emerging online media. The article , The evolving blogosphere: An empire gives way introduces some interesting phrases such as 'vast field of dead blogs', 'hastily abandoned cities', 'digital desert' but ends with an optimistic note: blogs are here to stay but only specialists will thrive.

The other article titled, Fast forward: Fear of a fried future is a review of Nicholas Carr's latest book, The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains. Digital revolution expert Nicholas Carr's assertion as how digital technology is damaging the long-term memory consolidation, the basis for true intelligence is disturbing. We also know his earlier question, Is Google Making Us Stupid?
